1404 Patients attending the emergency department for blunt thoracic trauma: a validation study of the STUMBL score

Aims, Objectives and Background Blunt thoracic trauma (BTT) is a leading cause of emergency department (ED) trauma-related attendance. The STUMBL score prognostic model for BTT, derived validated in the United Kingdom; this study’s aim was to validate an Italian ED. Method Design This single-centre retrospective validation study conducted ED Cuneo hospital, north-western Italy. All patients with attendance isolated BTT from 2018 2021 were included. Exclusion criteria were: age under eighteen presence any immediately life-threatening lesion. primary outcome development complications, defined by occurrence one or more following: in-hospital mortality, pulmonary complications (infection, pleural effusion, haemothorax, pneumothorax, empyema), need intensive care unit admission, hospital length stay equal greater than seven days. performance analysed terms discrimination evaluation receiver operating characteristiccurve calibration Hosmer-Lemeshow test belt.
